Fight fall flu

Hi Lovelies,

I hope you enjoy last bits of sunshine in October. We had gorgeous weather in the last two weeks. But this also can trick some people into wearing only t-shirts and short pants. In many cases this results in catching a cold so sudden that one day you feel well, next morning you wake up with a running nose, headache or a bad cough. To avoid this or cure yourself quickly here are some tips that can help.

1. Always wear layers

Be prepared for warm and cold weather also, because of some clouds are coming, or the sun goes down suddenly it can turn to very cold. Carry a warm sweater or west with you to put on if necessary.

2. Try some trendy hats and scarfs

Did you know your head is the place on your body where the most of the heat eliminates? Protect yourself with a trendy hat, fashion and heath can go together.

3. Get your vitamins in

Vitamin C and D are really important. If you don't want to take supplement, than you have to choose your food wisely. Citrus fruits and greens (spinach, kale) can help a lot. Here is a simple make-at-home recipe for ginger shots:

1 orange

1 large grapefruit

2 lemons

10 carrots

big piece if ginger

Turmeric

Run all ingredients through a juicer. You can store this in the fridge up to 3-4 days. Drink a small portion every morning on an empty stomach. You can also drink one in the evening, it can help with digestion. If you can't drink it all in 4 days, than freeze it in ice cube trays.

4. Move your body

No matter if you don't like sports walk half an hour every day. You will get used to chilly weather easier, and you get your daily dose of oxygen. If you have the possibility than walk in the sunshine to get that Vitamin D. Hug a tree, collect colorful leaves and chestnuts for fun.

5. Sleep more

As the sun is rising later and sets earlier our body switches into winter mode. We need a little more rest and a good night sleep. Just try to build an evening routine, drink some tea, find a good book, switch off all electronics after 7 p.m. and try to go bed the same time every day.

Hope these little tricks can help you to stay healthy, and avoid being sick. What are your favorite tips?
